The Player. The Parent. The Coach.
The Player: LFC IA NJ holds its players in the highest regard. The club is charged with not only developing the player to reach for his or her peak of athletic potential; but also serves to develop a person of character and class off the pitch as well as on it. The club holds its players to the highest of standards in terms of its core values: Ambition, Commitment, Dignity, and Unity. We seek players who yearn to get better and want to be pushed towards greatness. Players are formally assessed twice per year (Fall and Spring) with detailed feedback provided to the player and parent. The club takes a player-centered approach to development which states that the club acts in the best interest of each individual player no matter how that may affect a particular team. We teach our players the “Liverpool Way” in a challenging and stimulating setting where positive coaching practices are used to get the best out of our players. Building confidence as well as ability is central to our overall philosophy.
The Parent: The parent plays a crucial role in the overall development of the player along with providing emotional support and unconditional love. LFC IA NJ values the parent/player relationship and serves to include the parent as part of the club. Too often, clubs push the parent aside while focusing solely on the growth of the player. Rather, LFC IA NJ looks to serve the parent through education of the game, on the concept of long term player development, and of how to conduct oneself as a representative of a club with a long standing history of pride and dignity.
The Coach: LFC IA NJ attracts like-minded coaches who are dedicated to personal and professional growth. Just as we ask our players to strive to get better, the coaches serve as the standard bearers and role models for the players in that quest. Our coaches pride themselves in their pursuit of continued education through multiple avenues which include formal licensing from the USSF, USC, and UEFA; continued education through online learning; peer assessments from the Youth Director and Zone 1 Director; and formal coaching evaluation from the Academy Director Our coaches seek to uphold the core values of the club both on and off the pitch - Ambition, Commitment, Dignity, and Unity. They are the role models that guide the players along the developmental pathway.
