Coaching Education
Part of the mission of New Jersey Youth Soccer is to provide coaching education to those involved in the game. To accomplish this mission, NJYS offers a complete coaching schools program.
The New Jersey Youth Soccer Coaching Schools program is designed to address the needs of the American youth player and coach. All courses are taught by the New Jersey Youth Soccer Coaching Schools Instructors. Note: We also teach US Soccer National Courses. NJYS will also host on an annual basis the five-day National Youth Coaching Course.
NJYS Coaching Schools also offers other informal specialty clinics specially designed for the novice Recreational Level Coach who wants to advance his knowledge in the form of a 2-3 hour on-field and/or in-classroom sessions to suit your needs. For more information on the courses and clinics mentioned above contact the NJYS Director of Coaching Education RIck Meana at coach@njyoutouthsoccer.com.
US Soccer conducts nine-day residential courses for the National "C" leading all the way to the National "A" License. You may also find out about these courses through their online coaching education platform called the Digital Coaching Center. Note: When possible NJYS will attempt to host the National "C" License Course.
US Soccer's Digital Coaching Center (DCC), a state-of-the art online educational platform, allows coaches to create a personal profile, register for courses, communicate with technical staff, take part in online courses, create session plans with an online graphics tool, access an archive of U.S. Soccer training sessions and much more.
The US Youth Soccer online coaching education platform enhances the experience and opportunities for the US Youth Soccer players, coaches and parents. The platform features read at your own pace pages, video and document downloads.
In NJ Youth Soccer's Coaching Healthy Habits course, learn the three simple things you can do to help your players stay healthy and perform their best: encourage players to Drink Right, Move More and Snack Smart. In this FREE six minute online training developed by US Youth Soccer and Healthy Kids Out of School, you'll learn about basic nutrition and physical activity for young athletes and find practical tips to implement these healthy principles at your training's and matches.
Beginning with the 2017/2018 season, NJ Youth Soccer will eliminate the Non-Volunteer Pass and implement a Travel Coach Pass. Below is additional information to guide travel coach/trainers.
All travel coach/trainers will be required to authorize a background check during the registration process. The fee for all travel coach/trainer passes is $15 per season. If rostered in multiple clubs, only one fee will be assessed.
Below are additional about the Travel Coach application pass:
Travel coach/trainers will have the ability to create and print passes for multiple teams. That opportunity does not suggest any tolerance for a trainer/coach to attempt to utilize another printed pass should he/she be dismissed from a game. Suspensions are determined by the competition authority and are expected to be fulfilled. Penalties for subverting a suspension, intentionally or unintentionally, will be severe.
